All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; 20 Apr 1944 ANOTHER OLDTIMER PASSES AWAY Another old timer has been taken to his just reward. Mr. Fred Isles, rancher of Cameron Canyon succumbed to the ravages of cancer on Thursday night last after having spent the best part of his life in the locality. Mr. Isles came to that part of the Mojave Desert in 1890 at the age of 14 with his parents, and has for many years successfully operated the ranch which bears his name. He leaves a sister residing in El Monte to mourn his loss. Funeral ceremonies over the remains were held on Sunday at 1 o'clock and interment took place in a cemetery near El Monte to which the body was shipped O'Donnell Funeral Parlors of Mojave had charge of the funeral ceremonies.
