Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational church in Barstow last Thursday for 
Lafayette W. Johnson who passed away July 24 at California Inn Camp. In ill health for some time 
the hot spell is said to have contributed to his death.	He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on 
November 10, 1864. A businessman and former Justice of the Peace in Winslow, Arizona, Mr. 
Johnson came to California in 1926 and resided there ever since. Two brothers in Spokane and a 
sister in Seattle, Washington survive. Interment was in Barstow cemetery.
