Source Unknown; 7 Sep 1944 WORD OF HUSBAND'S DEATH RECEIVED Mrs. Vivian King, nurse in the employ of the Mojave hospital received, word Tuesday from the' War Department, of the death of her husband, Staff Sgt E. L. King in France. Mrs. King is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Fowler of Mojave. While lacking in essential details because of a letter containing full information to follow, the message tersely stated that Staff Sgt King had died on August 15 in the line of duty. Staff Sgt. King had been in the service of. his country for 3½ years, one year before Pearl Harbor, and left this country with his Field Artillery Unit for service in France on June 20 of this year.
