Source Unknown; Date Unknown A private family celebration of life is planned for Conchita Martinez Koch, 71, who passed away at her Tehachapi home on August 18. "Chita" was born December 8, 1926 in Tehachapi, CA to Benjamin and ,Petra Cortez Martinez. She attended the local schools and was graduated from Tehachapi High School in 1944. She was graduated from the Sawyer School of Business and was in accounts for the Morehouse Company of Los Angeles. Upon retiring, she and her husband returned home to Tehachapi. She married Robert Lavone Koch December 19, 1951. He preceded her in death by five days. Chita was an avid movie fan and enjoyed her many creative crafts. She loved decorating her home for the holidays and caring for her garden. Her interest and love for children was over- whelming and she loved taking part in dressing up for their tea parties. Friends and family knew her as a very giving and loving person. Chita is survived by her daughter, Cathleen Clark and her husband, Seth, of Sparta, Tennessee; a son, Robert Koch, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Arcadia; grandchildren, Shannon Lee and Jennifer Langley, Kevin Koch, Brian Koch; great grandchildren, Victoria and Veronica Langley, and Randal Lee, Jr.; sisters, Gloria Fifer, and Bette Cazares of Tehachapi and Laura Mikemson of Exeter, and numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins from Tehachapi and other parts of the country. She was a devoted mother, wife and sister. Members of her family have lived in Tehachapi since the early 1900s.
