Source Unknown; 7 Aug 2003 February 28, 1931 — August 1, 2003 Patricia Ann Kules of California City passed away in her home on Friday, August 1, 2003 at the age of 72. Patricia, formerly Patricia Ann Houck, was born on February 28, 1931 in Northampton, Massachusetts. She was the youngest child in a family of eight, daughter of George and Loretta (Reardon) Houck of Northampton, Massachusetts. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Kules of California City, and her three children, Laura Myers and husband Ron of Mojave, Jeff Peterson and wife Celeste of Bakersfield, and David Peterson and wife, Vickie of Bakersfield. She had eight grandchildren and one great grandson. Her sisters, Loretta Norris, Gladys Buiso, Mary Lewis, and Florence DiRoma also survive her along with her brother George Houck. Patricia lived quietly in her community raising her children, loving her friends, and caring for her husband. She loved animals and gave her heart to watching over God's little creatures. There wasn't a lonely animal that did not find a kindness in her. She was a wonderful mother who encouraged and loved her children, always pointing them past the hard times to focus on the hope of tomorrow. In her illness she continued to strengthen those around her by her courage and kindness until she closed her eyes in Jesus' arms. All those who had the privilege of her smile and love will remember her well. Rest in the hope of the resurrection, Mom, we will certainly miss you beyond words. There will be a private family memorial service. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hoffman Hospice in her name for the kindness they shared.
