Malone Sr., a fifteen year resident of Mojave, CA., passed away on June 28, 2000. Mr. Malone was born on June 2, 1920 in Athens, TN. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the CDG 315th Inf. Reg. 79th Division. He was also a carpenter, cabinet worker and farmer. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mojave, CA. Survivors include his wife Betty (Jackie) Malone of Mojave; sons, Lester M. Malone, Jr., of Portland, OR, Gary L. and Steven, both of Salem, OR; step-sons Robert L. Gray Jr. and Marshall B. Gray, both of Mojave, CA; brother Grant H. Frye of Mojave, CA; sister Lillie Maxwell of Jefferson, OR; grandchildren, Brandy L. Evans, Mandy Gray, Ryan Malone and Misti Dawn Malone all of Mojave, CA. Jason Malone, Molly Malone and Katie Malone all of Oregon and great-great grandchild Ryan A. Evans. Services were conducted by Pastor Mike Owens on July 3, 2000 at the Assembly of God Church in Mojave, CA with burial at East Kern Cemetery in Mojave, CA. Arrangements by Stickel Mortuary. Lester M. Malone, Sr. MOJAVE — Funeral services were held July 3 at the Mojave Assembly of God Church for Lester A. Malone, Sr., who passed away June 28. A resident of Mojave for 15 years, Mr. Malone was born in Athens, Tennessee, February 2, 1920. He was a minister, cabinet maker and farmer, and served in the 315th Infantry regiment of the 79th Division of the U.S. Army in World War II. Mr Malone is survived by his wife, Betty; sons Lester M. Malone, Jr. of Portland, Oregon, and Gary and Steven Malone of Salem, Oregon; sister Lillie Maxwell of Jefferson, Oregon; brother Grant Frye of Mojave; stepsons Robert L. Gray, Jr. and Marshall B. Gray, of Mojave; four granddaughters, two grandsons and one great-grandson Services were conducted by Pastor Mike Owens and interment was in the Mojave Cemetery Arrangements were handled by Stickel Mortuary of Mojave.
