Source Unknown; 30 Jun 1955 Death Takes Tehachapi Resident Herminie Emma Mathisen, 59, a Tehachapi resident since 1921, passed away in a local hospital on Tuesday, June 28. She was born November 5 in Redlands, Calif. and was very active in community affairs. Mrs. Mathisen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post No. 221, a member of the Community Congregational Church and a Gold Star Mother of World War II. She is survived by one son, Edward K. Mathisen of Phoenix, Arizona. Three daughters, Louise Smith and Charlotte Mathisen of Tehachapi; Emilie Toetperwine of Boerne, Texas and five granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Cong. Church in Tehachapi under the direction of O'Donnell Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Jeffs will officiate and interment will follow in Tehachapi Cemetery.
