Mojave Desert News; 15 Feb 1996 Lois Alma McKinnon-Eskew, 69 year old resident of California City passed away on February 8, 1996 in Lancaster. Lois was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 24, 1926 and lived in California City for 35 years. She was active in the community with local politics, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Moose. A Property Clerk for North American Aviation at Edwards AFB, Lois enjoyed her hobbies which included sewing, knitting and reading. She is survived by her husband, Curtis Lee Eskew of California City, by her daughter, Carol Ann Peterson and by her sisters, Alene Doughty of Remington, Indiana, and Ruth Mills of St. Louis, Missouri. Memorial services for Lois were held February 12 at the California City Memorial Park with Reverend Curtis O'Brien of the California City First Baptist Church officiating. The services were under the direction of Stickel Mortuary.
