McWright, 44, died on Saturday evening, July 28, at the Naval Dispensary, Marine Corps Air Station, Mojave, as a result of injuries sustained in a jeep accident. Warrant Officer McWright served in the Marine Corps for over 20 years and. saw duty in Guam, China, and the Philippines.. From February to November, 1942, he served aboard the USS MISSISSIPPI, and during1944 was a member of the 6th Marine Defense Battalion. His duties. at Mojave were those of Guard Detachment Officer. He is survived. by his wife, the former Esther Cravin of Hamlin, Texas, daughter Ernestine Lee, aged 7, son, Lawrence, C., aged 18 months, and his father, Harry A. McWright of Hamlin; Texas.
