All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; 13 Nov 2003 Charles A. Notar passed away in Hollister on November 6, 2003 at the age of 81. He was born in Cle Elum, Washington and had lived in Mojave, California from 1953 until 2001 when he and his wife moved to Hollister, California. He and his wife, Betty, were married in 1945 in Mansfield, Louisiana. He graduated from Seattle University in Washington with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He served his country faithfully during WWII and the Korean Conflict and worked in the aerospace industry for many years. He attended the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, California and Hollister and was an avid snow skier and taught his family to ski. They spent a great deal of time at Mammoth Mountain and he competed in downhill events and won awards. He is survived by his wife, Betty Notar of Hollister, his children and their spouses, Cathie and Ron Greenberg of Three Rivers, Michigan, Bonnie and Cliff Weedman of Escondido, California and Toni Notar and her husband, Stephen Kain of Hollister. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren There will be two memorial services: Wednesday, November. 12, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. at the Hollister United Methodist Church, 5th and Monterey Streets in Hollister and Friday, November 14, 2003 at 4 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church in Lancaster, CA. Inurnment will be at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster. Donations are preferred to Solutions or The United Methodist Church c/o Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 7th St. Hollister, CA 95023 Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.
