M., half mile north of the Los Angeles County line on Hwy 6, a southbound car driven by Thomas W. Lawson, 1827 Landis Street with William H. Parks, 3665 Altura Ave., La Crescenta as his passenger, had a head- on collision with a northbound car driven by Warren Musser, a soldier at the Muroc Army Air Base who had as his passengers Nellie Stein and Diane O'Neil of Lancaster and Cyrus Neilson and Wilbur D. Webb, army men of Muroc Army Air Base. Two passengers in the northbound car, Warren E. Musser and' Diane O'Neil were instantly killed and the remaining passengers of both cars seriously injured. Investigation revealed that the north bound car attempting to pass failed to return. to proper lane and also both cars had but one headlight. Mr. Musser had received a citation. from the highway patrol but 35 minutes before the accident in Lancaster. People who drive today should take more care of their headlights or they might be next. The two bodies were removed to the 0'Donnell Funeral Home and the injured to Lancaster where they were given first aid and then transferred to the L. A. County General Hospital. The accident was investigated by Officer Sanders of the California Highway Patrol.
