Mojave Desert News; 05 Jun 2003 August 29, 1929 — June 3, 2003 Beloved husband & father Juan "John" Silva Oseguera of California City passed away on June 3, 2003. John was born in Mexico and came to the United States in the early 1940's. As a young man, he was a fieldworker in Sacramento where he met his future wife, Cresencia. The couple were married September 18, 1953 in Reno, Nevada. They later moved to Camarillo, California where John worked at Camarillo State Hospital as a janitor. He retired from that job after nearly 20 years. John is survived by his wife, Cresencia; his sons John Daniel, Daniel, Lino, Christopher, Jason M. Jr.; daughters Carolina Hernandez, Juanita Reynolds, Alvina Serrano, Augustina "Tina", Emilia Oseguera and Nancy Oseguera. He also leaves behind grandsons Jason Sr., Robert, Wesely, Paul, Michael, Kevin, Daniel Jr., Daniel J., Christopher Jr., and Chad; granddaughters Jessica, Monique, Tiffany, Ashley, Desiree, Raelene, Sierra, Megan and Madison; great grandchildren Fernando, Jacob, Vanessa, Jazmin, and Jewel; brothers Arturo of Mexico and Ramiro of Santa Ana, California; sisters Augustina and Maricella, both of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends of John remember that family was the most important thing in his life. He always wanted everyone to get along and have fun. He also enjoyed playing the lottery. Rosary and viewing will be held at 6:30 p. m. Thursday, June 5, 2003 at Stickel Mortuary in Mojave. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in California City. Interment to follow at California City Cemetery.
