Source Unknown; 19 Sep 1940 Mojave Resident Laid To Rest Amid the most beautiful floral offerings the body of Earl Parel Ott, 48, lay in state at the establishment of the Mojave Funeral Chapel. Mr. Ott, employee of the Pacific Coast Borax Company suffered a heart attack last Thursday afternoon while at work and succumbed almost at once. He was born in Plymouth, Wisconsin, June 18, 1892, and after coming to Arizona was married to his widow, Mrs. Andrea Ott in 1912 in Tucson. He had been a resident of Mojave for the past 7 years and of California for 27 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs Andrea Ott, his daughter, Mrs, Josephine Meily, his granddaughter, Doree Mae Meily all of Mojave, his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Henry Ott of Plymouth, Wisconsin who arrived in time for the funeral on Monday here, and a brother who flew out to meet the cortege in Los Angeles where the body was interred in Evergreen Cemetery at that place. Mr. Ott was a kind and dutiful husband and a good fellow who will be greatly missed by his friends and associates among whom he was very popular, The funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. Judson Oldfield of the local Community Church. Mrs. Rachel Hodges and Mrs. Herbert Wilkerson rendered two very beautiful duets. The body was taken to Los Angeles by officials of the Mojave Funeral Chapel.
