Source Unknown; Date Unknown March 27, 1962 – Aug. 20, 2004 A Rosary Mass was celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 26 at St. Malachy Catholic Church for John Thomas Owen, 42, who passed away at Loma Linda Medical Center after battling liver disease. John was born to Carl and Virginia Owen on March 27, 1962, in Glendale. John was raised in Los Angeles and San Jose, graduating from Silver Creek High School in San Jose. About 15 years ago, he moved to be near his parents in the Stallion Springs area. John was a kind person who loved the Tehachapi area and the local residents. He was a staunch Republican who loved his country. He enjoyed watching movies, wrestling and taking care of his animals. After John's death, his cat Gismo was adopted by Beverly of Hemme Hay and Hillbilly Pets. John is survived by his father, Carl Owen of Tujunga; brother, Samuel R. Owen of Lake Mead, Nev.; sisters, Donna Schweiker of Tarzana, Dianna Del Soldato of La Crescenta, Debora Grady of Big Pine and Denise Judge of Stallion Springs; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia and his brothers, Tim, Paul and Michael. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Father Joel Davadilla officiated at the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Westside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
