Source Unknown; 5 May 2005 California City resident, Bertha Mae Owens was born on August 11, 1939 in Shattuck, Oklahoma and went home on April 28, 2005. Survived by husband Rev. Mike Owens, children, Ginger Nielsen of Portland, Oregon, Rev. Phil Owens of California City, brothers, Paul Allen Pletcher of Pampa, Texas, Henry Pletcher of Magnolia, Arkansas, Tommy Pletcher of Perryton, Texas, Floyd Pletcher of Canyon, Texas, Dale Pletcher of Arlington, Texas, one sister Roberta McClenathan of Portland; grandchildren, Stacee Nielsen, Nicole, Nathan and Ryan Owens. Bertha's love was teaching music. She attended Stamps School of Music in Dallas and has taught many people from Texas to Oregon to California to play the piano. For 42 years she stood by the side of her husband and was a partner in their ministry. With her music she shared the gospel message. Bertha was also a great teacher and was able to guide many women in times of study. Memorial services were held on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Mojave Assembly of God Church, 16027 M St., Mojave.
