Source Unknown; Date Unknown July 31, 1918 – March 13, 2005 Arthur Bates Parkins was born July 31, 1918 to Arthur Parkins and Orlinda Kroetzsch in Cincinnati, Ohio. He married Rachel Emanuelson on Nov. 22, 1939, in Yuma, Ariz. Parkins served in the U.S. Army in 1944 and 1945 during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He later became a general manager and vice president in the building materials industry for 35 years. He was a past resident of Tehachapi. Arthur was a Rotarian, a Kern County grand jury foreman and a member of the Grand Jury Association. He is survived by his wife, Rachel, now living in Indio; daughter,Vicki Doreen Campolimi of Arroyo Grande; sons, Arthur B. Parkins III of Cypress and Barry L. Parkins of La Quinta; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta F. Parkins of Worrall, Ind. in 1991. Services were held Wednesday, March 16, at Southwest Community Church in Indian Wells; burial was at San Gabriel Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, P.O.
