Source Unknown; 3 Apr 1952 Unidentified Man Found Dead An unidentified man was found dead Tuesday night ¾ of a mile west of Tehachapi Depot, beside the railroad track. It is assumed that John Doe met his death when attempting to board the SP 805 headed west which passed through Tehachapi at 8:23. The body was discovered shortly after by the engineer of a passing engine. Cause of death was determined as from shock due to loss of blood from a severed left leg. No identification was on the bodydescribed as being between 42 and 45 years old, 5 ft 5" tall, 145 pounds with grey brown hair and grey eyes. When found he had a weeks growth of beard. The body was removed by the O'Donnell ambulance and identification is pending from fingerprints. Funeral arrangements are pending notification of next of kin. Source Unknown; 10 April 1952 Transient Identified The body of an unidentified transient, killed the night of April 1, 1952 3/4 of a mile west of SP depot Tehachapi having apparently tried to climb aboard a moving train has been identified by the Kern County Coroners Office from fingerprints taken at the O'Donnell Funeral Home. He was identified as Gustave A. Peterson, age 47, born Sept. 25, 1904. Efforts to locate a sister. Leona Peterson, in San Antonio, Texas. proved futile. Further investigation is pending by County authorities in endeavoring to locate relatives.
