Long-time Mojave resident Carmen Powers, born January 13, 1950, passed away suddenly 
June 15, 1996 in Tulare, California. Carmen served as a waitress at the Pancake House in 
Mojave for 20 years. She is survuved by her mother, Joan Saskewitz, sons, Brett Buchhein, 
of Bakersfield, Jon West, of Ridgecrest, and Donnie West, from Iowa, her brothers Ron 
Hunt, of Rosamond, Mark Hunt, of Colorado, John Hunt, of Oklahoma, Scott Hunt, of 
Ridgecrest, and Jake Mullenie, of Mojave, her sister Robin Hunt, of Iowa and four 
grandchildren. Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mojave Four Square Church and 
burial will be held East Kern Cemetary in Mojave.
