Source Unknown; Date Unknown November 22, 1979-February 28, 2003 Laura Carynne Reeves, 23, died February 28, 2003 in Dallas, Texas, after a long and courageous battle with a serious illness. Laura was a 1997 graduate of Tehachapi High School, who worked as a customer service representative for United Airlines. Laura enjoyed music and travel. Her favorite places to visit were Lake Tahoe and Hawaii. She touched many people so deeply that several friends and co-workers will be traveling long distances to attend her services in Mojave. Laura had a special relationship with her family, especially her grandfathers. She called her grandfather Reeves "Paw" and allowed her grandfather Risner to call her Lula Belle. A celebration of her life will be held on March 15 at the Mojave Assembly of God Church, 1607 M. St. at 2 p.m. Rev. Grant Frye will officiate the service. Laura is survived by her mother, Valerie Reeves of Templeton; father Dwaine Reeves of California; sister, Dana Reeves of Bakersfield; nephew Nathan Cole Reeves; fiancée, Andy Van Tassel of Fort Worth, Texas; grandparents, Kendall and Vern Risner of Mojave and Opal Reeves of Bakersfield; a great-grandmother, Vergie Risner of Lamont a large extended family and a host of friends.
