Mojave Desert News; 12 Feb 1948 DEATH TAKES TWO FROM SAME HOME MONOLITH - Death struck twice in the same home in just one week, when, George W. Reynolds, of Monolith passed. away at the Kern General Hospital, on February 2. He had been in the hospital for the past month. While confined there, word was brought to him that his wife, Lily Reynolds had passed away in the Tehachapi Valley Hospital on January 26, from a sudden heart ailment. Mrs. Reynolds was sixty-one years of age and had been a resident of this community for fifteen years. She is survived by her sister, Mrs., Clara Olmstead, and four brothers, Frank, Olin Bert and Arthur Summons. Payne and Son Chapel in Bakersfield held burial services for her. Mr. Reynolds, 61 years of age, was born in San Luis Obispo, California, and came to Monolith fifteen years ago, and has worked at the Cameron Dairy south-east of town. He has no survivors. Funeral services were held in El Monte, on Saturday afternoon, and burial was made in the family lot in the El Monte Cemetary.
