Arline Rhodes, a 21-year resident of California City, California 
passed away on October 2, 2002 in Lancaster, California. She was 
born in East Hartford, Connecticut on September 20, 1922. She 
was a life-long housewife.
Arline is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John S. 
Rhodes Sr. of California City; daughter, Bronwyn A. Grimes of 
Green River, Wyoming; sons Phil R. Rhodes of Tehachapi, 
California, John S. Rhodes, Jr. of California City; Walter D. 
Grimes of Paso Robles, California; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on October 9, 2002, 10 a.m. at the 
First Baptist Church of California City. Internment was private.
