Roberson, a resident of Boron for 50 years, passed away on November 19, 2000. from complications of surgery. She was born in Roscoe, Missouri on June 18, 1927. Maxine was a grandmother and mother, property owner and manager. She worked several years as a telephone supervisor operator at Edwards AFB and had worked several years at the Coffee Mug Cafe. She was also a member of the Boron Eastern Stars; I.L.W.U, Ladies Auxiliary; Chamber of Commerce and the Election Board. Maxine helped to form Corral 50 Horse Club; and had been a Girl Scout and Brownie leader in the 1950s. She also volunteered her time at the Boron Museum. She was predeceased by husbands, Doyle Winifred McClinton in 1970 and William Harold Roberson in 1992; and her mother Emma Bartee in 1960. She is survived by her daughter and son-in- law Jackie & Fred Kozel of Boron, CA; granddaughters Toni Butler, Terri and her husband Kirk Kroeger; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Olbrey, Tyler Kroeger and Peyton Kroeger. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on November 27, 2000 at Stickel Mortuary Chapel with graveside services at East Kern Cemetery. Services by Rev. Grant Frye. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Boron Museum. She was a long time resident who loved her community and the people in it! Arrangements by Stickel Mortuaiy.
