Source Unknown; Date Unknown July 26, 1929 - Sept. 23, 2004 A memorial funeral service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel for Jean Roberts, 75, who passed away Sept. 23 in Bakersfield. Jean was born in Hurley, N. M. on July 26, 1929. She was a resident of Tehachapi for the past 30 years. She founded Tehachapi Answering Service in 1978 and sold it 10 years later, but continued to work there several years before retiring. Jean touched everyone's life in such bright and positive ways, whether it was to make them laugh or giggle, to give a hug, or just be there if anyone needed help. She was always there for friends and family no matter what. She was blessed with three children and two grandchildren that were her life, and she loved her sister Frieda dearly. It was important to Jean that she share the beauty of all good things with others, which at times we tend to forget. She led a full life with many, many good times and wonderful memories never to be forgotten. Jean is survived by her daughter, Tracy Roberts of Bakersfield; son, Ron Cordy; grandchildren, Joshua and Cameron Roberts of Tehachapi; sister, Frieda Schuler of Tehachapi; and nieces Sheri Elsworth and Cheryl Howard. She was predeceased by her husband of 18 years, Ronald Roberts, in 1980, and her son Darryl Roberts in 1997. Reverend Jerry McCullah officiated at the services. In loving memory of Jean Roberts, "Always have hope and faith, and the Good Lord will always listen." Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
