Source Unknown; Date Unknown April 30, 1914 – June 4, 2004 Visitations were held at Stickel Mortuary in Mojave Friday, June 11 and funeral services were held at the Community Congregational Church in Tehachapi on Saturday, June 12 for Wesley Nelson Rowlett, who passed away June 4. Pastor Diane Ryder and Reverend Richard Burdine officiated and interment took place at Eastside Tehachapi Cemetery. Nelson was born to Frederick and Grace Rowlett in Maitland, Mo. He was a farmer in Missouri until he moved to California in 1958. In 1960, he began working as a custodian at Tehachapi High School and retired in 1976, but continued working for the athletic department, attending all home games. He finally retired at 80 years old in 1994. Nelson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pauline Rowlett; son, Nelson C. of Mound City, Mo.; daughters, Darlene Marsh of Bakersfield and Trudy and Edwin Callihan of Tehachapi; six grandchilden: Sonya and Darrel Hand of Sweet Home, Ore.; Katie and Paul Cemer of Houston, Texas; Evy and Bob Brown of Tehachapi; Merri and Nathaniel Peterson of Bakersfield; Michael Marsh and Thomas Marsh, both of Bakersfield; great-grandchildren, Ethan Cemer and Memory Cemer of Houston, Texas, and John Paul Brown of Tehachapi.
