LOCAL MAN DIES OF LUNG TROUBLE
A victim of silicosis, Louis Rugen, 57, died at 2:10 a. m. on Sunday, January 19 at Kern General 
Hospital. Mr. Rugen was a resident of Mojave for the past 10 years coming here from Yugoslavia 
where an only brother survives him. He was formerly employed by the Pacific Coast Borax: 
Company at Boron and for the past two years has lived with Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kozich. Burial took 
place in the Slav cemetery with the Greek Orthodox Church in charge under the direction of the 
O'Donnell Funeral Home of Mojave.
