A graveside funeral service is scheduled for Netta Lou Satterfield, 66, on Tuesday, December 29 at 11 a.m. at the 
Mojave District Cemetery. Netta passed away December 24, 1998 in a Lancaster hospital after a brief illness.
Born November 28, 1932 in Mena, Arkansas she moved with her family to the Arvin area in 1937, where 
she joined the Arvin Union Congregational Church and remained a lifelong member.
In 1950 she married Bert Satterfield and they moved to Mojave the following year. A lady of many talents, she 
sold real estate for about ten years However, the past few years she had been very involved in genealogy 
research.
Netta is survived by her husband, Bert of Mojave; son, Larry Satterfield and wife, Diana, of Mojave; daughter, 
Sheryl Bickell and husband, Wayne, of Mojave; grandchildren, Chris and Staci Bickell of Modesto, and Erica and 
Geoffery Satterfield of Mojave; mother, Viola Holliday of Bakersfield; brother, Jim Holliday of Bakersfield; sister, 
Patsy Holliday of Bakersfield; and four nieces and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Basketball Program at Mojave High, 15732 
"O" Street, Mojave, CA 93501. Wood Family Funeral Service, Tehachapi.
