Source Unknown; 23 Mar 1939 Charles L Scott a former Southern Pa'cific hostler and foreman passed away March 10at his home in Santa Cruz after being ill but thirty minutes following a heart attack. Mr. Scott is well known to many in Mojave having lived here nine years before moving to Bakersfield where he worked and was retired by the company Oct 1, 1938. He then moved to Santa Cruz, He was born in Litchfield, Ill, Oct. 20, 1872. He was a Spanish American war veteran and was a member of Tehachapi Lodge No 31 F &AM as well as Mt. Whitney Lodge No 139. He was buried at the San Francisco Presidio. His wife, Mrs. Belle Scott survives.
