Source Unknown; Date Unknown Aug. 10, 1919 – March 12, 2005 Lloyd "Red" Severance, age 85, of Cherry Valley, passed away March 12. Red was born August 10, 1919 in Alliance, Ohio. He was a former resident of Tehachapi for eight years and Garden Grove for 36 years. Red served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and was an Orange County Deputy Sheriff for 12 years with Knott's Berry Farm. He was a member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Chapter 14 Los Alamitos; VFW Post #950 Mankato, Minn.; and Banning-Beaumont Elks #1839. Red is survived by his wife of 60 years Helen J. Severance of Cherry Valley; daughter Linda Jean Bennett of Ontario; two brothers, Lawrence Severance of Downey and Dennis Severance of of La Puente; granddaughter Amanda Jean Gardner; and great-grandson Tyler John Gardner.
