California City, California resident, Betty L. Shane, passed away at 
Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, California on April 4, 2004. She 
was born in Anderson, Indiana on May 27, 1930.
Betty was predeceased by her husband on Carl R. Shane in 1987.
She is survived by her daughters, Carla Doughman of Tulare, California, 
Mary Stephens and Mildred Zindler, both of California City, Joan 
Fairchild of Mojave, California; sisters Romona Cook of Somerset, 
Kentucky and Carolyne Barlo of Muncie, Indiana; 27 grandchildren and 13 
greatgrandchildren.
Services were held by the family on April 8, 2004 at Stickel Mortuary in 
Mojave.
She was the backbone of the family, a generous person, kind-hearted 
and loved her family very much. She will be deeply missed.
