Hundreds turn out for Shenoy's Mass

More than 400 relatives, priests, nuns and friends attended the Christian Burial Mass 
for Hilda Ferandes Shenoy, a native of India and mother of Fr. Leslie Shenoy, 
Mojave/Rosamond priest. Hilda passed away in Lancaster on December 28 (1995).
Bishop John Steinbock from the Fresno Diocese celebrated the Mass, Fr. Leslie 
assisted him.
The body was shipped to Man-galore, India where the interment will take place. Fr. 
Leslie and his nephew Goldwin Vaz from Merced accompanied the body to India.
Besides, Fr. Leslie, Hilda had three daughters who live in India. (Two of the daughters 
are nuns).
Following the service, Mojave/Rosamond Ladies Auxiliaries served luncheon to the 
guests from Merced, San Francisco, Visalia and local friends who attended the service.
