Adalee was born in Mobeetie, Texas on April 13, 1915 to Len Walker and Minnie Lee Love, and lived there on the family farm until she was 21 years old. On August 8, 1936, she was married to Everett Sims in Shamrock, Texas. Everett and Adalee left Texas in 1940 and moved to Tehachapi where they have made their home for the past 58 years. She spent her life as a devoted wife to her husband, and a caring and loving mother to her four children. She worked for the US Postal Service in Tehachapi for a few years during the 1950s. One of eight charter members of the First Baptist Church of Tehachapi, founded in 1941, Adalee served as pianist and Sunday school secretary for more than 50 years. Her joy was her family and her church and she was devoted to both. She had a strong faith in God and instilled the same in her children. She is survived by her husband Edwin of Soledad; Linda Stivers and husband John of Lancaster; and one son, Harold Sims and wife Vicki, of Tehachapi. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Services were held on Monday, October 12, at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry McCullah and Reverend Edwin Collier officiating. Burial was at Tehachapi Eastside Cemetery. Wood Family Services handled the arrangements. NOTE: Photo At: http://www.calarchives4u.com/photos/kern/
