Almeta F. Smith, born January 13, 1929 in Bluegrove, Texas, passed away on January 1, 2001 in 
Lancaster. Almeta was a 38-year resident of Boron, CA. She also resided for a time at Havasu Landing, 
CA.
Almeta leaves to mourn one son, David Leach, and one daughter, Debbie Passmore both of Boron, CA; 
one sister, Wilma Eubanks of Lubbock, TX; . six grandchildren, Robert Leach and family, Brenda Smith 
and family, and  Keith Leach all of Boron, CA; Lora Stoddard and family of Hesperia, CA; Elizabeth 
Hales and family of Palmdale, CA; and Linda Passmore of Las Vegas, NV; and eight great-
grandchildren. Almeta's husband, Ralph Smith, and her son Kenneth Leach preceded her in death.
Graveside services were held on January 6, 2001 at East Kern Cemetery in Mojave and conducted by 
Stickel Mortuary.

BORON — Graveside services were held Saturday for Almeta F. Smith, who passed away 
January 1 in Lancaster.
Mrs. Smith, a 38-year resident of Boron, was born January 13, 1929, in Bluegrove, Texas.
She is survived by a son, David Leach and daughter Debbie Passmore, both of Boron; sister 
Wilma Eubanks, of Lubbock, Texas; grandsons Robert Leach and family and Keith Leach, 
both of Boron; granddaughters Lora Stoddard of Hesperia, Elizabeth Hales of Palmdale, 
Brenda Smith of Boron, and their families, and Linda Passmore of Boron.
Arrangements were handled by Stickel Mortuary of Mojave.
