Redlands Daily Facts Newspaper; 01/27/2008 Marvin Dudley Jr., 87 Marvin Daniel Dudley Jr. died Jan. 19 in Mission Viejo in his sleep. He was 87. He was born May 25, 1921, in Redlands, and graduated from Redlands High School. He was the only son of Marvin and Louise Dudley. "He certainly loved Redlands - he had many childhood memories and friends (there)," said his wife of 58 years, Jean Ann Dudley. He attended USC and was drafted into the Army near the beginning of World War II. He served in the Pacific and was awarded the Bronze Star. He graduated Phi Kappa Phi from USC after the war and was a drummer in the marching band there. He worked as a certified public accountant for 40 years as a partner with the firms Sauer, Dudley, McKenzie and Bovee, and Eddie and Payne, both in San Bernardino. He was involved in the local Boy Scout council, serving as president, and was given the Silver Beaver Award for his dedication, his wife said. He was a member of the San Bernardino Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife Jean Ann of San Clemente; daughters Nancy Dudley of Laguna Niguel and Susan Dudley of Madison, Wis.; and grandchildren Emma, Mitchell, Hannah and Sadie Dudley. Services will be conducted at a later date in Corona del Mar. Condolences may be sent to Pacific View Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, CA 92625. Services were 3 p.m. today at Cortner Chapel in Redlands. Pastor Louis Venden officiated.
