Mary Frances Edwards, 68, died Feb. 5, 2008, at the Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, N.C. Mrs. Edwards was born in Marietta, Okla. She was the daughter of Addie Beatrice Brown Weiss and the late William Giles. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hugh Edward Jr., on Oct. 9, 2005, and her sons, James Marc Edwards and Eric Hugh Edwards. She was a former employee of Pasadena Credit Union and the Apple Valley Inn. Survivors include her daughter, Stacie Lynne Hodes, of Manadeville, La.; mother, Addie B. Weiss, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; sisters, Billie Joan Graves, of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Cheryl Sanders of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Doug Giles, of Corona; grandchildren, Sarah Frances Velarde and James Vincent Edwards-Velarde; longtime friend, Lisa Moss, of Apple Valley; sisters-in-law, Billie Jo Bellerue of Henderson, Nev., and Candace Le Weitz, of Arizona. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Very Rev. James Buchholz officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
