Record Searchlight; June 29, 2006 FISCHER -- Robert Gustave Fischer, 85, of Redding died Wednesday at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding. Arrangements are pending at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding. Record Searchlight; June 30, 2006 REDDING -- Graveside services for Robert Gustave Fischer, 85, of Redding will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo. The Rev. Noble Streeter of First Presbyterian Church in Redding will officiate with honors from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard. Mr. Fischer died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding. Born Aug. 31, 1920, in Indianapolis, he moved to Shasta County in 1980 from Ventura. He served in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, was a mechanical engineer for the federal government, and was a member of Redding VFW Post 1934, First Presbyterian Church and the Gideons Society. Survivors include wife Ruth; son Robert of Redding; daughter Janice Thompson of Virginia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Condolences can be posted at www.allenanddahl.com.
