Redlands Daily Facts; 02/25/2008 Betty Gonzalez, a 44-year resident of Redlands, died Feb. 20 at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, following a sudden illness. She was 74. She was born Oct. 28, 1933, in St. Paul, Neb., and graduated from St. Andrew's High School in Pasadena in 1951. She worked as a special education teacher's assistant at Redlands High School from 1978 to 1982 and as an administrative assistant for Boeing Aerospace Co. in San Bernardino from 1982 to 1993. She had volunteered in the gift shop at Loma Linda University Medical Center for the past 10 years and she was a Stephen minister at the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Redlands (now Holy Name of Jesus). She had recently joined the Assistance League of Redlands. In her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling in the United States, Europe and Asia. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Gonzalez of Redlands; son Joseph M. Von Moos of Arizona; daughters Christine M. Jones of Redlands and Theresa M. Duncan of San Rafael; stepdaughter Lorraine McGrane of New York; stepbrother Michael Sellers of Arizona; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, with rosary recited at 7 p.m., both at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 115 W. Olive Ave., Redlands. Memorial donations may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, www.guidedogs.com
