Record Searchlight; June 29, 2006 BURNEY -- Melba Edith Gwin, 94, of Burney died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills. Private services were held. Burial was at Burney District Cemetery. Born Oct. 1, 1911, in Thornton, Ark., she moved to Shasta County in 1942 from Sheridan, Ark. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church in Burney, and a former member of the PTA and the Democrat Women's Association programs. Survivors include daughters Martha Hamon of Redding and Frankie Cramer of Fairfield; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Shasta County Library Burney branch, 37038 Siskiyou St., Burney, CA 96013. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald's Burney Chapel.
