"Big Bear Grizzly" Thursday, September 1, 2005

Geraldine "Gerry" Hjerlied, 88, ended her battle with cancer on Aug. 29, 2005. 
She was born in South Dakota in 1916. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, 
Sept. 1, 2005, at Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church. Pastor Gene Smith 
said "not only has she played music for the church through her skill and talent 
but her life was the music that she played to her family and friends.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Donald Hjerlied, and daughters Linda Stangl 
and Joe, Nancy Troutman, Carol Jones and Mike, and her grandchildren, Jake and 
Becki Stangl and great grandchildren, Brandon and Alexis.

Gerry loved life and the people she knew. She will be greatly missed and 
remembered as an incredibly loving and giving person.
