Margaret Josephine Kirkmeyer, 76, of Palm Desert died in Rancho Mirage on Feb. 20, 2008. 
Margaret was born to Michael and Annie (Ciuch) Smith on Nov. 18, 1931, in Canada.

Margaret was a credit representative with GMAC for 30 years. She married Thomas Kirkmeyer 
in 1984 in Santa Barbara.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Thomas Kirkmeyer of Palm Desert; brother, Frank Smith 
of Canada; sisters, Kathleen Chatfield of Chula Vista; Pearl Smith of Canada; Elsie Houson of 
Canada; niece, Jennifer Chatfield of Studio City; nephew, Jeff Chatfield of Chula Vista; two 
great-nieces; one great-nephew; stepchildren Thomas Kirkmeyer Jr., Jennifer Norman, Kaye 
Reynolds, Kelly Gilreath and Valerie Roach, all of Apple Valley; 15 grandchildren and nine 
great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at FitzHenry Funeral Home Palm Desert 
Chapel, 44635 San Rafael Ave., Palm Desert.
