All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. "Big Bear Grizzly"; Thursday, October 6, 2005 Laurie Rene Ludecke 33, passed peacefully on Oct. 1, 2005, in Big Bear City. She was born on Aug. 6, 1972 in Worcester, MA. Laurie was a loving mother to her two sons, Dylan and Collin, and a loving wife to Steven Ludecke. Laurie was a 10-year resident of Big Bear City. She was also a dedicated employee for 10 years at Bear Valley Community Hospital. Laurie was a dedicated volunteer in this Valley and a cherished Soccer Board member and Blitzsnell Board member and involved in many other charitable events. Laurie was a devoted and loving friend to many people. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Laurie is survived by her husband, Steven, and sons Dylan 12, and Collin, 8. She is also survived by her siblings, John Rochford; Heidi Rochford of Santa Monica, CA; Erica Larocque of San Francisco, CA; David Larocque of MA; and her father, Dave Larocque of MA. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and other family members. Laurie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Jean F. Larocque of MA. She was Laurie's saving grace who adopted Laurie at the age of 3. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m. at The United Methodist Church located at 1001 Holden Avenue in Big Bear City. An open reception will follow at the home of Bob and Kathy Ludecke. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Laurie Ludecke memorial fund with the Arrowhead Credit Union. An "In Memory" fund-raiser benefiting the Ludecke family wilt be held on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Fastlane Ski and Board located at 42131 Big Bear Boulevard in Big Bear Lake. The time will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Baked goods, yard sale items as well as raffled items donated by local merchants will be available.
