All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. "Big Bear Grizzly"; Date Unknown Lila Fay Wood 66, passed Oct. 26, 2004, in Big Bear Lake, Calif. Born in Chowchilla, Calif., Jan. 8, 1938, she lived in the Valley for 35 years and was very involved with the worship team at Bear Valley Community Church. Being very talented and gifted in music she taught piano and cello for many years. When she was teaching at the Desert Strings Musical Academy, Lila became associated with V.V.C.C. in 1973, playing in the High Desert Symphony Orchestra and soloing with them at least three times. Her hobbies were painting and gardening, and she also enjoyed traveling. Lila is survived by her husband, Jerry of Big Bear Lake, daughter Karen of Big Bear Lake and sister Marcia Mills of North Carolina. A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at Bear Valley Community Church, Big Bear Lake.
