Lena, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ellis of Descanso, a native of California, aged 21 years. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services from Johnson & Connell’s chapel at 2 p.m. today, thence to St. Joseph’s church, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. DEATH YESTERDAY OF MISS LENA ELLIS Miss Lena Ellis passed away at the residence of her aunt, Mrs. Stewart 1445 Third street, yesterday. Miss Ellis called upon Mrs. Stewart on last Sunday to take dinner with the family, and during the afternoon was taken ill. Before the night she was feeling so badlythat Mrs. Stewart would not permit her to return to the Revere house, where she lives with another aunt, Mrs. E.D. Stone. She resided with Mrs. Stewart up to the time of her death.During her illness she had been under the care of Dr. J.B. Stone, and then Drs. Franklin, Oatman and Khetsch were called, the two later, however, did not arrive until after she had passed away. Miss Ellis had for some time been in the employ of C.W. Erasting, the jeweler who speaks very highly of her personal qualities and her ability as a conscientious clerk. Besides the two aunts before mentioned, the departed girl leaves a father, mother, two sisters, and another brother now in Texas. Private funeral services were held at Johnson & Connell’s chapel last evening and the remains will be taken to Descanso today for interment.
