SMITH-In this city. Friday,  January 8, 1909. May E. Smith, daughter of Capt. 
Joseph H. Smith and sister of Charles Fiske Smith and Dr. Ralph Nicol Smith of 
Los Angeles Calif.; a native of New York; aged 42 years 10 months 8 days.
	Funeral services will be held at Johnson & Connell's chapel. D and 
Seventh streets, tomorrow (Sunday) at 2 o'clock p.m. and will be strictly 
private. Rev. W.R. Thorp will officiate. Interment at Mt. Hope cemetery.
