Redding Record Searchlight on 2/10/2008 Sharon Ruth (Stumpff) Kreps PALO CEDRO- Sharon (Stumpff) Kreps, 69, died at home February 4, 2008 with her loving husband by her side. Sharon was born October 22, 1938 in Scottsbluff Nebraska to Clarence R. and Kathleen (Carter) Stumpff and was raised in Wheatland, Wyoming. Sharon graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.A. degree in elementary education. While at the university she was active in the Tri Delta sorority, was a twirler for the University band and was voted rodeo queen for Platte County Wyoming. At the University of Wyoming she met her future husband L. Butch Kreps and they were married on December 29, 1960. Sharon taught school in Laramie, Wyoming for five years and was a substitute teacher in Utah and Southern California. In 1976 the Kreps family moved to Palo Cedro, California. Sharon was an active 4-H leader for many years, a member of The United Methodist Church of Redding, and belonged to the PEO Sisterhood, as well as the Redding Doll and Study Club. She had a God given talent to be able to visit Alzheimer's patients in care facilities. Her kindness and love greatly affected each in a positive way. She collected dolls from the time she was two and received her last doll this past Christmas. She loved her dolls but nothing like her children and grandchildren. Sharon lived to see the grandchildren play their different sports and seldom missed a game. Sharon was very proud of her family. She never met a stranger and was blessed with many friends. She still remained in touch with her "forever friends", the ones that she had known from her youth, until her recent passing. She will always be remembered as a courageous, generous and caring person by all of those who loved her. Sharon is survived by her husband of 47 years Butch, two children, Mikaela (Miki) Kreps, of Santa Rosa and Shawn Kreps , his wife Brenda , two grandchildren Nathan, 15 and Courtney, 11 of Cottonwood, a sister, Cindy Browall of Riverton, Wyoming and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service is planned February 26, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, 1825 East Street, Redding California at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions can be given to either the College Fund at the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 992716, Redding, CA 96099 or The Palo Cedro Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 86, Palo Cedro, CA 96073. Please sign the guestbook at http://obituaries.redding.com
