REDDING - A memorial service was held on January 31, 2008, for Redding resident, 
John "Jay" Scheidt, 80, who passed away in Redding CA on January 26, 2008. 
He was born in Taft, CA on November 22, 1928. He was a graduate of San Jose 
University and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was an engineer for FMC 
Corporation for 30 years. 
He enjoyed fishing and boating. He was very active in the community of Shasta 
Hills Estates where a memorial bench will be placed in his memory. 
He is survived by his two sons: Mark of Livermore, CA and Michael of Checotah, OK 
and his daughter, Maureen Goodwin of Tracy, CA. 
Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Northern CA, Chico 
Branch.
