Redding Record Searchlight on 2/10/2008 SEBASTOPOL - Cindy Suzanne Webb, Born November 23, 1953; died February 1, 2008 of ovarian cancer. Growing up in Redding, CA started a life-long passion for nature, gardening, backpacking and hiking. Cindy graduated from San Jose State University's Nursing Program in 1978, leading to a life of work she always loved, including her most recent work as a home hospice nurse. One of her greatest passions was world travel and she and her beloved life partner, Wally Loniak, spent many of their 26 years together exploring much of this exciting globe. She was a political activist and Marxist. Buddhist practice brought her much peace and grounding. She treasured and nourished friendship and leaves behind many devoted friends. Survivors include Walter Loniak of Sebastopol, her father Jack Webb of Redding, mother Beverly Stevens and stepfather Jerry Stevens of Anderson, sister Ann Newcomer of Palo Cedro, niece Traci Newcomer of Weed, nephew Rob Newcomer of Shasta Lake, cousins Pat Thompson and Tim Thompson of Redding and cousin Mollie Ryness of Anderson. Cindy died at home in the care of her home hospice team and in the company of Wally Loniak and devoted friend Beth Felker. Donations may be made to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospice or the Sonoma County Peace and Justice Center. Memorial services to be announced at a later date.
