Leona Jean Howell Dies In Hospital
Leona Jean Howell, 63, died Saturday in a local hospital. She had been in ill health for 
some time. A native of Illinois, Mrs. Howell had been a resident of Sutter County for 58 
years, making her home in Sutter County. She is survived by her husband, Roy Howell, 
and one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Grow of Sutter City; also five brothers, Joe, Herman, 
Frank and A. Lemenager of Sutter City, and J. Lemenager of Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. 
Amila Fleming of Oakland and Mrs. Virginia Da Cosse of Yuba City. One grandchild, Roy 
Grow, also survives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hutchison’s 
Colonial chapel. Interment will be in Sutter City Cemetery
