Marysville Evening Democrat, January 6, 1914, Pg 8 Death of John McPherrin John McPherrin, one of the pioneer residents at Sutter County, died at his home near Sutter City shortly after the noon hour Tuesday. Mr McPherrin was one of the prominent and prosperous ranchers of this county where he has resided for a number of years. He was aged 77 years and was a native of Illinois. He had a host of friends in both Yuba and Sutter counties who will regret very much to hear of his sudden demise. The deceased has been ailing for the past year but was not taken with severe illness until shortly before Christmas when he was forced to take to his bed. Up to that time he was apparently in good health with the exception that he was growing quite feeble from advanced age. He is survived by a wife and three children. namely, Chester McPherrin of Yuba City, Arthur McPherrin of Meridian and Mrs. R. M. Fichter of Sutter City. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from his late home at Sutter City and interment will be made in the Sutter City cemetery under the direction of R. E. Bevan & Son.
